A wood-fired tub heats from a stove, not a pump. There's no plumbing to run, no electrical supply to install, and no standing cost sitting on your bill every month whether you use it or not. You fill it with a hose, light the fire, and in a couple of hours it's ready.
That's the part people underestimate. Lighting the stove and watching it come up to temperature is half the reason it gets used. It turns a soak into an evening rather than flicking a switch.

The stove sits inside the tub, heating the water directly. It's the fastest and most efficient option, and it uses the least floor space overall.

No. You fill it with a garden hose, light the stove, and drain it through the fitted outlet. Electrics are only needed if you choose an electric heater, LED lighting, filtration, or the bubble system.
Typically around two to three hours with a wood stove, depending on the size of the tub and the starting water temperature. An insulated lid keeps it warm long after the fire dies down.
Change the water regularly, or add the filtration system if you want longer between changes. Many people run wood-fired tubs chemical-free entirely. We'll talk you through a routine that suits how often you'll use it.
